Savannah River Site - Stimulus Success - South Carolina is home to one of the nation's largest stimulus projects: $1.6 billion used to hire more than 3,300 to cleanup the old plant.  The people in the rural communities that surround the Savannah River Site have been left behind as the unemployment rate shot up to higher than 20 percent during the past two years.  Workers will dismantle and clean up the old plant and prepare it for its next mission as part of one of the nation's largest stimulus projects.
